What is Crown rule in India?

The Crown rule in India refers to the direct administration of the British crown that began in 1857 till 1947. The British Crown, now referred to as the British Raj, took direct administrative control from the East India Company following the Revolt of 1857. 

The rule is also called Crown rule in India, or direct rule in India
