What is the Speciality of the Thousand Pillar Temple?

1. The three shrines in the temple collectively called Trikootalayam are dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva and the Sun God, Surya.
2. 1000 richly carved pillars are built in the shape of the star to adorn the temple. These pillars are constructed in such a way that none of the pillars obstruct the view of the shrine.
3. The Chalukya style of architecture is one of the finest examples.
4. An impressive 6ft statue of Nandi which is a monolith of black basalt is present at the entrance of the temple.
