Environmental Performance Index is a biennial index prepared by Yale University and Columbia University in collaboration with the World Economic Forum. This index was first published in 2002 designed to supplement the environmental targets set forth in the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
EPI indicators provide a way to spot problems, set targets, track trends, understand outcomes, and identify best policy practices. Overall EPI rankings indicate which countries are best addressing the environmental challenges that every nation faces.
