EPFO Assistant Recruitment 2023: Exam Pattern

EPFO (Employment Funds Provident Fund) is a well-known organisation of the Central Government. It is in charge of all government employees’ accounts and data. EPFO is in charge of overseeing the administration of the EPFO assistant post-recruiting examination. Exam Pattern for EPFO Assistant 2023 

The EPFO Assistant selection process is divided into two stages. The first stage is qualifying in nature. These are listed below:

• EPFO Prelims Exam Phase 1
• EPFO Mains Exam Phase 2

Although the final selection is based only on performance in EPFO Mains Exams, it is critical for applicants to do well in the prelims stage because it is the qualifying test.

EPFO Assistant 2023: Prelims Exam Pattern

The EPFO Assistant Preliminary Exam 2023 will be an objective examination administered online. The EPFO Assistant Preliminary Test is a computer-based exam that is administered online. There will be 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from three sections: 

• Quantitative Aptitude
• Reasoning Ability
• English

• Each section in the EPFO Assistant Prelims Test 2023 will have its own timing.
• Except for the English section, this EPFO Assistant Prelims test 2023 is bilingual (available in both English and Hindi). 
• There is negative marking for incorrect answers. A quarter of the mark allotted to that question in the EPFO Assistant Prelims Exam 2023 will be deducted for each incorrect response.
• Candidates will be shortlisted for Phase II in a ratio of 1:10, i.e. about 10 times the number of openings in each category, based on their performance in Phase I.
• There is a sectional cut-off as well as the overall cut-off for the prelims exam. 

All applicants who passed the preliminary tests will be permitted to sit for the mains. The applicants who will be shortlisted for the given post will be determined by the results of Phase 2 of the EPFO Assistant Mains Exam.

EPFO Assistant 2023: Mains Exam Pattern

The EPFO Mains exam 2023 will have an online objective examination with 150 questions for 200 marks and a descriptive section with three questions for 30 marks. The EPFO Assistant Descriptive Test (Paper 2) will follow shortly following the online objective test. Each section will have a time limit; once the time limit is reached, candidates will be immediately sent to the next section.

Those candidates who will qualify for the cut-off for EPFO Mains Exam 2023 will be selected for the post of EPFO Assistant.

What happens if there is a tie in the scores of the EPFO Assistant Exam Results?

In the event that two or more applicants have the same score, the older candidate will be ranked higher. It signifies that a candidate who is senior will be placed higher in the merit ranking. If there is still a tie, the candidate will be chosen based on their alphabetical order of names. In the event of an age tie, someone with a name beginning with “A” has a greater probability of being chosen than someone with a name beginning with “C.”

Important Points about EPFO Assistant Exam 2023

• There will be negative marking for wrong answers (1/4th mark will be deducted).
• Following the conclusion of the Phase-II Main Examination online objective exam, the EPFO Assistant Descriptive paper will also be made available online.
• EPFO Assistant Descriptive paper 2023 will be completely online, which means the questions will be shown on the screen and applicants will be asked to write their responses using a keyboard.
• Except for the English section, the online test will be bilingual, available in both English and Hindi.
• The results of Phase II will be evaluated for final selection.
