Important JEE Tips
Revise the Notes
The day before the examination should be spent on revising the notes created by you during the study sessions in the last few months. The day before the examination, avoid spending too much time on learning a new topic. After revising every chapter, take a minute to recollect the important formulas and concepts of that chapter.
Take Mock Tests Before the Examination
JEE Main is an online examination and the questions should be answered within the allotted time. To improve the speed of answering, the students are advised to take up many mock tests before the actual examination. The mock tests help the students understand the topics in which they need improvement. Students will also get familiar with the exam pattern, question types, etc.Â

Go through the Admit Card
The Admit Card is released a few days before the examination on the official website. The candidates must download the admit card and take it to the examination hall without fail. However, after downloading, the details on the admit card should be thoroughly checked. If any mistakes are found on the admit card they should inform the concerned authority and get it corrected before the examination.
Get Familiar with the Examination Centre
If the candidate stays closer to the examination centre it is advisable to visit the centre once before the examination. This helps the candidate to get familiar with the location and get an idea about the time required to reach the examination centre.
National Testing Agency (NTA) has also launched a tool called Centre locator on the official website to help the candidates to locate their examination centre easily.
Things to be Taken to the Examination Hall
These things listed below can be taken to the examination hall
- It is mandatory to carry the admit card, preferably a coloured printout of the admit card on an A4 sized sheet.
- A passport size photograph of the candidate. The photograph should be the same as the one used in the application form.
- An original ID proof like Aadhar card, pan card, etc.
- Candidates belonging to the PwD (person with disabilities)Â category should carry a certificate from the concerned authority.
Things that Should not be Taken to the Examination Hall
Candidates should be aware that certain things like an electronic device, eatables, bags are not permitted inside the examination hall. Some of the other articles that will not be allowed in the examination hall are listed below
- Calculators and other electronic devices
- Paper, pen, pencil or any textual notes
- Water bottles
