A Detailed Question Paper Analysis of NEET-UG 2022 (Code – S5) July 17, 2022 (2:00 pm – 5:20 pm)
- NEET-UG – 2022 was conducted on 17th July 2022 in offline pen & paper-based Examination
- The NEET-UG has 4 subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology
- As per the new exam pattern, there were 2 sections in each subject consisting of 35 questions in Section A (all the questions were compulsory) and 15 questions in Section B (out of which 5 were optional).
- There were 200 Multiple Choice Questions, 50 per subject. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and for each incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted. Zero marks will be awarded for each unattempted question.
- The total duration of the NEET 2022 Exam was 3 hours 20 minutes (200 minutes)
- Section A consists of 35 questions in each subject (Question Numbers – 001 to 035, 051 to 085, 101 to 135, and 151 to 185). All questions are compulsory.
- Section B consists of 15 questions in each subject (Question Nos – 036 to 050, 086 to 100, 136 to 150, and 186 to 200). In Section B, a candidate needs to attempt any 10 questions out of 15 in each subject.

- NEET 2022 examination shall be conducted on 17 July 2022 by the NTA across 494 different cities in India and 14 centres abroad
- NEET 2022 saw a whopping 1872341 registrations this year
- The time duration of NEET 2022 this time was 3 hours and 20 minutes (2 p.m. to 5.20 p.m.)
- Students were provided with 13 different language options for the NEET 2022 question paper – English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Punjabi
- The NEET exam pattern of 2022 for each subject – Section A (35 questions) and Section B (10+5 questions). From Section B, students could answer any 10 questions
- NEET 2022 has negative marking – 1 mark shall be deducted for every incorrect response

Will NEET 2022 be tough?
If a candidate has mastered NCERT content for NEET and related sources, is thorough with concepts, has well-practised questions papers, solved enough questions and has a good speed and accuracy level, they can secure a good NEET rank. Every year, the difficulty level of each section of the paper differs from being easy to moderate to challenging. Candidates must have sound preparation to ace NEET.
Will NEET 2022 be based on NCERT?
The NCERT syllabus for Class 11 and 12 must be mastered for NEET 2022. However, if one is aiming at cracking NEET 2022 with a good rank, NCERT alone is not sufficient. One must prepare from study material and reference books and solve previous years’ question papers too.
Is NEET Physics tough or easy?
The Physics section out of the other 2 sections is usually time-consuming since it involves computations and calculations. But, with conceptual clarity and a well-practised hand, a student can crack NEET physics and can answer above 38-40 questions comfortably. It is not as tricky as JEE Physics.
Which section is the toughest of all in NEET?
Typically, the NEET Physics section is termed to be the most challenging one since it consumes time to answer 45 questions, as it involves numerical-based questions, calculations and thorough knowledge of concepts.
Which is the most scoring section in NEET?
With a clear understanding of concepts and mastering topics covered in NCERT for Class 11 and 12, students can crack NEET. The Biology and Chemistry sections are usually deemed by students to be the easier and scoring sections compared to Physics.
