Punjab School Education Board Class 9 (2020-21)

Class 9 of Punjab state board comes under Punjab School Education Board, in short PSEB. The board was established during the year 1969 through a legislative approval. PSEB mainly aims for development and promotion of secondary education in Punjab. Boards governs each and every aspect of school education.

Major function of PSEB includes – improving the quality of school education and Prescribing textbooks. The curriculum for school education is proposed by a full – fledged academic wing of highly experienced subject experts from all major subjects. Textbooks based on the 9th class syllabus pseb, once written are constantly revised for improvisation and published in regular intervals. PSEB conducts various board examinations at school levels. Currently the board conducts three public examinations, that is in the middle, Matriculation and senior secondary level. Regarding school education PSEB acts like an advisory body to Punjab State Government. Making necessary arrangements for affiliations of schools to the board is also included in its functions. To brief, PSEB is solely responsible for A to Z functioning of primary and secondary education in the state of Punjab.

PSEB Class 9 is broken into two summative assessment, that is, the academic curriculum will be divided into two divisions for simplification. End summative assessment does not necessarily mean end of course. PSEB class 9 includes major streams like Mathematics, English, Science, Agriculture, Home science, computer science, Punjab history and culture etc., thus covering wide spectrum for all round improvisation of knowledge among students.
