Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Non-technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Exam Fees 2023-24

Exams for various Non-technical Popular Categories (NTPC) are conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) in several stages. The details regarding the RRB NTPC exam fee for various categories/communities, fee exemption and refund are given below.

Modes of Payment of Fee for RRB NTPC 2023-24 Exams

Candidates who plan to apply for the RRB NTPC examination can pay their exam fee online or offline. More information on the modes of payment is given below.

  • Online Payment Mode: Exam fees can be paid online through:
    • Internet banking
    • Debit cards
    • Credit cards
    • UPI
  • Offline Payment Mode: Exam fee can be paid offline through the following modes:
    • SBI Challan payment mode can be used in any branch of SBI.
    • Post Office Challan payment mode can be used in any branch of a computerised post office.

RRB Exam Fee 2023-24: Points to Remember

  • While paying the exam fee, the service charge is to be borne by the candidate. 
  • Candidates should ensure that they pay the exam fee before the closing date and time of fee payment. Closing time for fee payment varies for online and offline modes of payment.
  • Candidates who pay fee offline should keep the original receipt and a copy of the same with them. The original receipt should be provided during the document verification.
  • Minority Communities: The candidates who belong to the minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians (Parsis)) and wish to avail a waiver of exam fee should submit a “Minority Community Declaration” affidavit on a non-judicial stamp paper during document verification. The “Minority Community Declaration” affidavit should state that they belong to (any of) the minority community mentioned above.
  • Economically Backward Class (EBC)
    • Candidates whose annual family income is less than Rs. 50,000 will fall under this category. Candidates who have BPL Card and Izzat MST are also eligible for fee concession under EBC.
    • EBC candidates should have a valid income certificate available with them on the date of application. The prescribed format of the income certificate is provided in the RRB NTPC notification. Candidates can also provide the income certificate/proof on the letterhead of the issuing authority. The Income certificate should be furnished during document verification
    • EBC candidates seeking fee concession should fill in the relevant Certificate/Card Number, name of the issuing authority, issue date, place of issue and State in the online application
  • Exam Fee Refund:
    • Candidates who pay the exam fee through the online mode should confirm if they wish to receive the refundable portion of fee (Rs 400 or Rs 250 (as applicable)) in the account from which they have made payment or alternatively provide the beneficiary account in which they wish to receive the refund. Refunds will be given to only those candidates who attend the 1st Stage CBT. The following details pertaining to the alternate beneficiary’s account should be provided:
      • Name of the beneficiary
      • Account number
      • Name of bank
      • IFSC Code of the bank. 
    • The refundable portion of examination fee will be refunded after deducting bank charges (as applicable)
    • Candidates who pay the exam fee through SBI Challan or Post office Challan should provide details of the beneficiary’s account in which they wish to receive the refund. The details should include:
      • Beneficiary Name
      • Account Number
      • Name of bank
      • IFSC Code
    • Candidates whose application is incomplete or those who have not submitted their application or whose application is rejected, will not be given the fee refund.
  • Candidates should regularly check the official website of RRB for refund related information. Candidates have to apply (only those who have appeared for the RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam) for an exam fee refund and the last date regarding the same will be made available on the official website of RRB.
  • Bank Account Details for Refund: 
    • Candidates who have already given the confirmation to receive their refund into the account from which they have paid the application fee, need not fill these details again.
    • Candidates who do not wish to receive the exam fee refund in the account through which they paid exam fee should provide details of the alternate Beneficiary’s Account in the online application form. The details include:
      •  Beneficiary Name
      •  Account Number
      • Name of Bank 
      • IFSC Code
  • The Railway Administration can cancel the notified vacancies at any stage at its discretion. In the aforementioned case, the exam fee will be refunded to those candidates who have attended the 1st Stage CBT
