The official notification for Bank of India 2023 exam is yet to be released. Aspirants can check the previous year data for better understanding of various aspects of the exam.

The Bank of India released the official notification for the recruitment of officers in various streams up to scale IV on a regular and contract basis, on 22nd April 2022. The applicants who are interested in joining the BOI were required to apply for the 696 posts, before 10th May 2022. A renowned bank in the nation, The Bank of India has more than 5000 branches scattered across all states and union territories, including specialist branches. Many candidates aspire to begin their careers at this prestigious organisation each year.

The selection of the eligible candidates is made through a two-step process: a written online exam followed by a GD or/and an interview. Bank Of India (BOI) Exam: Eligibility Overview

To apply for the Bank of India (BOI) Scale IV officers, candidates must meet some eligibility criteria as mentioned in the official notification. The eligibility conditions differ based on the posts one is applying for. An overview of the eligibility requirements is given below:

All the aspirants who want to join the Bank Of India must fulfil the following criteria of nationality:

A candidate must be one of the following: 

  • a citizen of India
  • a subject of Bhutan
  • a subject of Nepal 
  • a Tibetan refugee who entered India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle there permanently; 
  • person of Indian origin who emigrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African nations of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia

BOI Scale IV Officers Exam: Age Relaxation

Candidates for the General Category and EWS are subject to the upper age limit as mentioned in the above section. Only one of the remaining groups is eligible for age relaxation and it only applies cumulatively to applicants who are SC, ST or OBC. For these applicants the upper age relaxation is given below:

It is to be noted that:

  • At the time of the interview and at any subsequent stage of the hiring process as needed by BOI, candidates who are requesting an age relaxation will need to present the original documents and submit copies of the applicable certificate(s).
  • An ex-serviceman may take advantage of the ex-serviceman reservation for any subsequent work if he or she applies for many positions before beginning any civil employment. 
    • To be eligible for this benefit, an ex-serviceman must provide a self-declaration or undertaking to the relevant employer as soon as he or she starts civil employment, outlining the dates of all applications made before beginning the initial civil employment.
    • Furthermore, this incentive would only be available for positions filled through direct recruiting and in cases where the ex-serviceman is eligible for a reservation.
    • There is no reservation for Ex-servicemen in Officers’ Cadre

The educational qualifications required for each position are given below:

  • Preference for Certification: any one of the following certifications: Certification for Java Developers (OCAJP/OCPJP/OCEWCD)
4. Economist Post-graduate degree in Economics or Econometrics from a university, institution, or board that has been approved by governmental regulatory bodies or recognised by the government of India

  • Candidates with expertise in financial or behavioural economics will be given preference.
  • Candidates from prestigious institutions and universities will be given preference, such as the Delhi School of Economics, Madras School of Economics, JNU, Jamia Millia Islamia University, IGIDR, and others,

  • from institutions of national importance as listed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
5. Statistician Full-time Master’s or Post Graduate Degree in Statistics or Applied Statistics (from a University, Institution, or Board recognised by the Government of India or approved by Government Regulatory Bodies)

  • Preference will be given to applicants from top statistics institutes and universities.

  • MBA as an additional qualification is preferred.

22. Manager (Application Architect) 

It is to be noted that:

  • In the online application, the candidate must state their graduation percentage, calculated to the nearest two decimals. If a CGPA or OGPA is given, it should be converted to a percentage and indicated in the online application.
  • Candidates from the reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, and PWD) who are applying for reserved positions (SC, ST, OBC, and PWD) are eligible for a 5% relaxation of the minimum score requirement, which means they must obtain 55% of the total marks.
  • The percentage marks will be calculated in accordance with each university’s standards. The fractional portion of the percentage will not be taken into account, so 54.99 percent will be considered less than 55 percent and 59.99 percent will be considered less than 60 percent.

  • 4 years of experience as an officer, with 3 years of those years spent in the relevant industry, in financial institutions, banks, rating agencies, analytics firms, reputable brokerage firms, and corporate organisations like CRISIL, CIBIL, and ICRA, among others.
  • Candidates with sufficient experience handling huge volumes of data, applying statistical techniques and tools, inferring patterns from the behaviour of data, forecasting, modelling, calibrating, and validating, submitting various reports to top management based on the analysis, etc., are preferred.
6. Technical (Appraisal) Minimum 3 years and of the 3 years, a minimum 1-year experience should be in core industrial sectors.
7. Risk Manager 3 years of experience as an officer, with 2 years of these years spent in risk-related roles in financial institutions, banks, rating agencies, analytics firms, reputable brokerage firms, and corporate organisations like CRISIL, CIBIL, and ICRA, among others.
On Contract Basis
8. Manager IT A minimum of 7 years of experience. Candidates who have worked for banks, NBFCs, insurance companies or investment firms will be given preference.
9. Manager (End Point Security) A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience managing endpoint security for any reputable organisation (preferably in the banking or IT sectors), with at least 3 years in one of the following positions:

  • a Level-3 resource working for a company that offers endpoint security services, OR 
  • a TAC resource working for an OEM (in the field of network security devices such as AV, Proxy, App. Whitelisting, Drive Encryption)
10. Manager-IT (Data Centre) At least 2 years of experience managing digital channels (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, UPI) for any reputable business, particularly one in the banking or IT sectors or a fintech company, with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on expertise in application development (coding, testing, and maintenance of applications/software).

Manager (Data Centre)- System Administrators Windows  At least 3 years of experience as a Level-3 resource in an organisation engaged in the business of providing System Administration-Windows Servers, with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as a system administrator (Windows) in any reputable organisation (preferably in the banking or IT sector).

Sr. Manager (Network Security)  A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience managing networks for reputable organisations, preferably in the banking or IT sectors, with at least 3 years of these years spent as a Level-3 resource in a company that offers network services OR as a TAC resource at an OEM (in the area of network security devices like firewalls, IPS, etc.) OR experience managing network security for any BFSI-related institution.

16. Manager (Database Expert)  Minimum 7 years of experience in the field of Database Management preferably in Core Banking/Fintech solutions.
17. Manager (Data Centre)- Cloud Virtualization  Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience managing dense virtualization environments in reputable organisations (preferably in the banking or IT sectors), with at least 3 years:

  • as a Level-3 resource in an organisation that provides System Administration for VMware-Vcenter, OR 
  • as a TAC resource in an OEM (in the field of Vmware, Vcenter)
18. Manager (Data Centre)- Storage & Backup Technologies Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience managing storage and backup infrastructure administrators in any reputable organisation (preferably in the banking or IT sectors), with at least 3 years 

  • as a Level-3 resource in a company that offers storage administration OR 
  • as a TAC resource in an OEM (in the field of Netapp Storage, 3Par, XP7)
19. Senior Manager A minimum of 8 years of experience. Candidates who have worked for banks, NBFCs, insurance companies or investment firms will be given preference.
20. Senior Manager IT (Data Centre) At least 3 years of experience managing digital channels (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, UPI) for any reputable organisation, preferably one in the banking or IT sector or a fintech company, with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in application development (coding, testing, and maintenance of applications/software).
21. Manager (Technology Architect)  Experience in the IT industry of at least 7 years after obtaining the requisite qualification. Out of the required 7 years of experience, at least 2 years must be in IT architectural roles, especially in the banking and financial sectors.
