BOI Scale IV Officers Exam: Age Relaxation
Candidates for the General Category and EWS are subject to the upper age limit as mentioned in the above section. Only one of the remaining groups is eligible for age relaxation and it only applies cumulatively to applicants who are SC, ST or OBC. For these applicants the upper age relaxation is given below:

It is to be noted that:
- At the time of the interview and at any subsequent stage of the hiring process as needed by BOI, candidates who are requesting an age relaxation will need to present the original documents and submit copies of the applicable certificate(s).
- An ex-serviceman may take advantage of the ex-serviceman reservation for any subsequent work if he or she applies for many positions before beginning any civil employment.
- To be eligible for this benefit, an ex-serviceman must provide a self-declaration or undertaking to the relevant employer as soon as he or she starts civil employment, outlining the dates of all applications made before beginning the initial civil employment.
- Furthermore, this incentive would only be available for positions filled through direct recruiting and in cases where the ex-serviceman is eligible for a reservation.
- There is no reservation for Ex-servicemen in Officers’ Cadre

It is to be noted that:
- In the online application, the candidate must state their graduation percentage, calculated to the nearest two decimals. If a CGPA or OGPA is given, it should be converted to a percentage and indicated in the online application.
- Candidates from the reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, and PWD) who are applying for reserved positions (SC, ST, OBC, and PWD) are eligible for a 5% relaxation of the minimum score requirement, which means they must obtain 55% of the total marks.
- The percentage marks will be calculated in accordance with each university’s standards. The fractional portion of the percentage will not be taken into account, so 54.99 percent will be considered less than 55 percent and 59.99 percent will be considered less than 60 percent.
