Syllabus of RBI Specialist Officer (SO) Exams
The syllabus of the exam for Law Officer Grade B is given below. The Reserve Bank of India has not prescribed any syllabus for certain SO posts. Moreover, there is no written exam but only interviews for some Specialist Officer posts. The RBI Specialist Officer (SO) syllabus for the following posts is given below:
- Manager (Technical-Civil/Electrical)
- Library Professionals (Assistant Librarian) in Grade ‘A’
- Architect in Grade ‘A’
- Curator on full time contractÂ
- Law Officer Grade B
Syllabus of Examination for Law Officer Grade B
Exam for Law officer Grade B comprises Online and Offline Examinations and Interview. Law officer Grade B examinations comprise objective and descriptive-type question papers. The syllabus of the Law officer Grade B is given below:

Points to Remember
- Question Paper I (General Knowledge of Law) will be set in Hindi and English.Â

- The number of candidates to be called for an interview will be decided by the Board based on the marks scored in the examination.Â
- Final selection for various posts will be made on the basis of the performance in the examination (Paper I and II) and interview.
Syllabus of Examination for Manager (Technical-Civil/Electrical)
Exam for Manager (Technical-Civil/Electrical) will be through Online and Offline Examination and Interview. Details are given below.
Paper 1
- Paper 1 is of objective type
- Paper 1 will test the professional knowledge/ job knowledge
- Candidates should remember that Paper-I and Paper-II examinations will be conducted on the same day.Â
Paper 2

- It is of descriptive type
- Standard of the papers will be that of B.E. Degree
RBI has not provided a syllabus for the Manager (Technical-Civil/Electrical) post.

Points to Remember
- In Paper-I, there will be negative marking for every wrong answer.Â
- Paper-I of only such candidates, who appear in both the papers, would be evaluated.
- Paper-II of only such candidates, who score sufficiently high marks in Paper-I, as decided by the Board, would be evaluated.Â
- Question papers for examination will be set in Hindi and in English. Answers may be written either in Hindi or English.Â
- Candidates may opt to answer in Hindi or English in the interview.Â
- The number of candidates to be called for an interview will be decided by the Board.
- Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the examination (Paper I and Paper II) and interview.
Syllabus of Examination for Library Professionals (Assistant Librarian) in Grade ‘A’
Candidates for the Library Professionals (Assistant Librarian) in Grade ‘A’ post will be selected through an interview of 100 marks. RBI has not prescribed a syllabus for the Library Professionals (Assistant Librarian) in Grade ‘A’ post.
Points to Remember
- A preliminary screening of the applications will take place (if required) to shortlist eligible candidates who will be called for the interview.Â
- The Board has the right to raise the minimum experience in order to restrict the number of candidates to be called for Interview, based on the number of vacancies.Â
- Candidates who fulfil the minimum requirements would not automatically be entitled to attend the interview.Â
- Candidates who are shortlisted for the interview will have to submit self-certified scanned copies of documents in support of their eligibility on grounds of age, educational qualifications, work experience etc. at email ID documentsrbisb@rbi.org.in.
Syllabus of Examination for Architect in Grade ‘A’
The syllabus for the Architect in Grade ‘A’ post will be of Bachelor’s Degree of Architecture. RBI has not provided a specific syllabus but has given a book reference list for the post.
Exam for Architect in Grade ‘A’ post will be conducted through online written examination and interview. Written examination will comprise the following papers:

Syllabus for Curator on full time contract for RBI Museum at Kolkata
The Reserve Bank of India has not prescribed a syllabus for Curator post. Though there is no written exam for the post, selection of candidates will be through an interview of 100 marks. Others details are as follows:
- A preliminary screening of the applications will be carried out (if required) to short-list eligible candidates for the interview. Candidates who fulfil the minimum requirements would not automatically be entitled to attend the interview.Â
- Candidates shortlisted for the interview will have to submit self-certified scanned copies of documents in support of their eligibility with respect to age, educational qualifications, work experience etc. at email ID documentsrbisb@rbi.org.in
