Twelve hours ‘Inspire’ module on Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been announced for CBSE class 8 students by Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in the Rajya Sabha on 5th Dec 2019. This module has been launched to enhance the multidisciplinary approach to teaching-learning and to create students’ interest in AI learning. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has already introduced Artificial Intelligence as a skill subject. AI is presented as a certification course for CBSE Class 8 students and a regular course for CBSE Class 9 students from 2019-20 academic session. Now, twelve hours ‘Inspire’ module on Artificial Intelligence has also been announced, which schools can take up with the students of Class 8. All the study material for teaching Artificial Intelligence has been made available on the official CBSE site.

CBSE has collaborated with several organizations such as Intel, IBM, Microsoft, Private Schools etc. A total of 41 training programmes on Artificial Intelligence have been conducted in CBSE-affiliated schools to provide proper training to principals and teachers. The Board is also planning to introduce Artificial Intelligence in States and UTs. However, it is not confirmed by the respective Boards as yet.
