Central Board of Secondary Education has released the handbooks for students and teachers in the official CBSE portal on 4th Nov 2019. The handbooks have been released with the aim to improve the quality of education. In its official notification, CBSE has asked all schools to distribute the handbooks to teachers and students. Furthermore, the board has also requested to plan discussions/activities for students on the chapters of the “Handbook for Students”. The participation of students in these discussion/activities can be credited for the portfolio for internal assessment.
CBSE has released the handbooks with the objective to provide information related to the CBSE stakeholder (Student, Teacher, Parent, Principal and School Management) at one place. The board believes that every stakeholder of CBSE plays a significant role in the process of qualitative improvement. Thus, in this series, the Handbook for Teachers and Handbook for Students have been released.

Handbook for Teachers
The handbook answers queries pertaining to the professional lives of teachers related to the CBSE. This handbook is a source of information to teachers for the procedures, policies, roles, responsibilities and resources related to their professional life. The book contains a range of information, such as teacher self-evaluation framework, details about the board examinations, subjects offered, use of technology, disaster management procedures to be followed, awards that teachers may apply for. It also has other important and much-needed information about CBSE policies in matters involving teachers.
Handbook for Students
This handbook will address all the queries of students related to the pedagogy, subject choices, examination, CBSE activities, procedures etc. It also contains details related to matters pertaining to academics, examination, personality enhancement activities, disaster management, cyber safety and other administrative procedures related to subject and date of birth change. Thus, students will find answers to all queries in this handbook.
