UPSC Mains 2018: Admit Cards Released

The Union Public Service Commission has released the admit cards for the Civil Services Mains (Written) Examination 2018. The UPSC Mains exam is scheduled to begin on 28th September 2018. The exam will be held for five days and the last exam will be on 7th October 2018.

The UPSC Mains admit cards will not be sent to the candidates by post. The candidates will have to download them from the UPSC official website and carry a printout of the same. The printout of the admit card should be carried to the examination centre allotted to the candidate.

The UPSC had announced 782 vacancies this year to be filled by the civil services exam. Only those candidates who have cleared the UPSC prelims exam which was conducted in June this year are eligible to take the mains exam. And, candidates who clear the mains written exam will be called for an interview, also known as the UPSC personality test.

Steps for UPSC Admit Card 2018 download

  1. Go to the UPSC website
  2. Check the ‘What’s New’ section on the home page. Under this, click on ‘e-Admit Card released for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination’.
  3. Again click on the ‘Click here’ button beside Admit Card.
  4. Then, click on ‘Click here’ given on the following page.
  5. You will be taken to a page where the important instructions for candidates for UPSC mains are given. Go through the instructions carefully and keep a printout of the same for future reference. Then, click on ‘Yes’.
  6. Then, you will be asked for the registration ID or the roll number. Enter the necessary details and press submit.
  7. Now, you can download the admit card and take a printout of the same.

Make sure you check your name and other details for any discrepancies in the admit card. If there are any, bring it to the notice of the UPSC as given in the ‘Important Instructions’. In case your photograph is not clear or visible or not printed in the admit card, please make sure you carry a valid photo identity proof such as Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Passport, etc. to the exam hall along with an undertaking.
