Chintan Shivir

  • The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), organized ‘Chintan Shivir’ to bring together key stakeholders from Government, NGOs, and private sector to deliberate on the 5 key areas of school education i.e.
    • Digital Learning,
    • Physical Education,
    • Life Skills in Education,
    • Value Education and
    • Experiential Learning.
  • The main aim of the workshop is to provide holistic education relevant for 21st century India



Central Board of Advisory Education (CABE)

  • It is the highest advisory body to advise the Central and State Governments in the field of education.
  • It is headed by Union HRD minister and consists of nominated members representing various interests in addition to elected members from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha
  • Major functions of CABE are to review the progress of education from time to time, to assess the extent and manner in which education policy has been implemented by central and state governments and other concerned agencies and to give appropriate advice in the matter.

  • Protocol between India and Israel on Amendments to theAir Transport Agreement
  • Agreement on Film-co-production between India and Israel
  • Memorandum of Intent between Invest India and Invest in Israel



CIPAM-DIPP launches IP competition for college & university students

  • The Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM), Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), in collaboration with ASSOCHAM and ERICSSON India, has launched a one of its kind Intellectual Property (IP) Competition ‘IPrism’ for college and university students.
  • This competition invites students to submit films on piracy & counterfeiting under two categories of 30 and 60 seconds. Another category in the competition is for a mobile gaming app on IP.


  • Counterfeiting and Piracy cause significant loss to the industry and pose serious safety threats to the consumers.
  • Generating awareness can help in tackling such crimes since limited knowledge about their adverse social and economic impact leads to circulation and consumption of pirated content and fake goods.



International Workshop on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (IWDRI)

  • The Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the IWDRI
  • The two-day workshop is being organised by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).


  • Disaster resilient infrastructure creates opportunities for economic growth and is at the core of sustainable development.
  • The infrastructure systems are globally interconnected, disruptions in one part of the world can cause havoc in another part of the world. It is, therefore, important that all stakeholders come together to address the challenges and devise solutions to create resilient infrastructure.
  • Robust infrastructure will be at the core of sustainable development in the coming decades and this is also recognized in the way the Sustainable Development Goals have been framed.



Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore unveils the Khelo India Anthem

  • In an endeavor to encourage mass participation and promote excellence in sports, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports unveiled the Khelo India Anthem Commencing on January 31, 2018, the Khelo India School Games will be the first programme to mark the beginning of Khelo India, a category defining, holistic sports development programme.
  • The anthem is conceptualized by Ogilvy, composed by Louis Bank and the film has been produced by Nirvana Films.
