1.MoU Signed between CCRAS-CSMCARI and CIM&H, Chennai

MoU Signing and Key Attendees:

  • MoU Participants: Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) – Captain Srinivasa Murthy Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CSMCARI), Chennai, and Commissionerate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy (CIM&H), Chennai
  • Event Details: Held on June 29, 2024, at the Kalaignar Centenary Multi-Speciality Hospital, Guindy.
  • Dignitaries Present: Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Minister and Additional Chief Secretary & Health and Family Welfare Secretary.

Objectives and Key Initiatives:

  • Testing and Standardization: Testing selected raw drugs and finished products for medicine standardization.
  • Training and Accreditation: Providing NABL Accreditation Training guidance to the CIM&H Laboratory.
  • Collaborative Research: Conducting research on standardization and toxicity evaluation of selected higher-order medicines.

Anticipated Outcomes:

  • Quality and Safety Enhancement: Ensuring higher quality and safety of Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic medicines through rigorous testing and standardization protocols.
  • Specialized Training Programs: Enhancing CIM&H laboratory capabilities to meet the highest standards.
  • Collaborative Research Benefits: Providing valuable data on the toxicity of higher-order medicines, ensuring safety and efficacy.
  • Capacity Building and Knowledge Exchange: Promoting innovation and excellence in Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy through ongoing knowledge exchange and capacity building.

 

2.The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) Launches eSankhyiki Portal for Enhanced User Experience and Ease of Data Access

Introduction to eSankhyiki Portal:

  • Launched by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) for improved user experience and data access.
  • Designed for planners, policymakers, researchers, and the public.
  • Integrates cutting-edge technologies and global best practices.

Key Features:

  • Data Catalogue Module:
      • Catalogues major data assets of the Ministry for easy access.
      • Allows users to search within datasets and download data.
      • Includes seven data products: National Accounts Statistics, Consumer Price Index, Index of Industrial Production, Annual Survey of Industries, Periodic Labour Force Survey, Household Consumption Expenditure Survey, and Multiple Indicator Survey.
      • Hosts over 2291 datasets with metadata and visualizations.
  • Macro Indicators Module:
    • Offers time series data of key macro indicators.
    • Features data filtering, visualization, and downloading custom datasets.
    • Includes data of last ten years from National Accounts Statistics, Consumer Price Index, Index of Industrial Production, and Annual Survey of Industries.
    • Hosts more than 1.7 million records.
