1. Ninth India-U.S. Economic and Financial Partnership

Context: 9th India-U.S. Economic and Financial Partnership was held in New Delhi.
Details:
- India and the United States of America launched the Economic and Financial Partnership in 2010.
- It is a framework to cement the economic bonds between the two countries and build a foundation for greater cooperation and economic growth.
- Indian Union Minister of Finance and the United States Treasury Secretary led the delegation of their respective countries and issued a joint statement.
- The meeting covered the discussion on several economic issues like climate finance, global macroeconomic outlook, supply chain resilience, international taxation, anti-money laundering, combating terrorism financing, India’s upcoming G20 presidency, and Multilateral Development Bank reforms.
- It was also reaffirmed that a regular dialogue is crucial for the U.S.-India economic relationship and for advancing global efforts to tackle pressing economic challenges.
- During the meeting, a presentation on India’s digital innovation was also made to explore the possibility of collaboration between India and the USA and take forward the digital progress which is human-centric, solves societal problems, unleashes innovations across the ecosystem, and empowers individuals and small businesses.

2. Bhopal Railway Station awarded ‘Eat Right Station’

Context: Bhopal Railway Station has been awarded ‘Eat Right Station’.
Details:
- Bhopal Railway Station was awarded a 4-star ‘Eat Right Station’ certification for providing high-quality, nutritious food to passengers.
- The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) grants this certification to railway stations that adhere to standard food storage and hygiene practices.
- The ‘Eat Right Station’ certification signifies that the railway stations have set benchmarks in providing safe and wholesome food to passengers.
- The certificate is awarded on the conclusion of an FSSAI-empanelled third-party audit agency of a railway station.
- The ratings are given on a scale of 1 to 5.
- The 4-star rating indicates full compliance by the station to ensure safe and hygienic food is made available to passengers.
- It is a part of the ‘Eat-Right Movement India’.
- Other ‘Eat right stations’ are Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station (Delhi); Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Mumbai Central Railway Station (Mumbai); Chandigarh Railway Station, and Vadodara Railway Station.
Eat-Right Movement:
- It is a large-scale effort by FSSAI to transform India’s food system that ensures safe, healthy, and sustainable food for all Indians.
- It adopts a judicious mix of regulatory, capacity-building, collaborative, and empowerment methods to make food suitable for the people and the planet.

3. PM unveils 108-feet-long bronze statue of Sri Nadaprabhu Kempegowda

Details:
- Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi unveiled a 108-feet-long bronze statue of Sri Nadaprabhu Kempegowda in Bengaluru.
- The statue is built to commemorate the contribution of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda to the growth of Bengaluru. He is known as the founder of the city.
- The statue has been termed the ‘Statue of Prosperity’.
- Indian sculptor Ram V Sutar (who designed the Statue of Unity) conceptualized and sculpted the statue with 98 tonnes of bronze and 120 tonnes of steel.
