1. AEROSPACE & AVIATION IN 2047

Context: The President of India, graced an International Conference cum Exhibition on ‘Aerospace & Aviation in 2047’, organised by the Aeronautical Society of India to commemorate its 75th Anniversary.
Details:
- The President said that from its humble beginnings in 1948 till today, the Aeronautical Society of India has worked tirelessly to ensure that not only the aeronautics as a knowledge-system grows by leaps and bounds, but it also impacts the life of every citizen in a substantial manner.Â
- She appreciated all for their outstanding contribution to the advancement and dissemination of the knowledge of aeronautical sciences and aircraft engineering that has made the aeronautical profession as one of the most sought-after and glamorous careers.
- The President said that aviation is a remarkable feat of human ingenuity that brings the imaginative power to reality with seamless fusion of technology.Â
- Aerospace and aviation are simultaneously humbling and almost superhuman activities that afford us the vast global connection of the planet we inhabit and exploration of space and beyond.
2. Logistics Performance Index (LPI) Ranking
Syllabus: GS-3, Infrastructure
Prelims: Logistics Performance Index (LPI) Ranking
Context: A meeting on Measures Taken and Action Plan for improving India’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) ranking was held under the chairpersonship of Special Secretary (Logistics), DPIIT, MoCI with the nodal officers of the LPI dedicated cell formed in eleven Stakeholder Ministries/Departments.
Details:
- The dedicated cell meets every fortnight to assess the measures taken and outcomes achieved in improving performance across six parameters of LPI includingÂ
- (i) Customs.,Â
- (ii) InfrastructureÂ
- (iii) Ease of arranging shipmentsÂ
- (iv) Quality of logistics servicesÂ
- (v) Tracking and Tracing andÂ
- (vi) Timeliness.
- It highlighted that the targeted action plan is important to improve the logistics efficiency of the country and thereby India’s ranking in the World Bank LPI.Â
- The measures taken by the stakeholder Ministries/ Departments will be showcased to the World Bank LPI team.
- During the meeting, Ministries/ Departments presented the action plan, and best practices were showcased.
3. Project Collaboration Agreement
Syllabus: GS-2, Social issues
Prelims: the Traditional and Complementary Medicine ‘Project Collaboration Agreement’
Context: WHO and the Ministry of Ayush signed the Traditional and Complementary Medicine ‘Project Collaboration Agreement’
Details:
- First phase of the contract will prove to be a milestone in the global development of Traditional and Complementary Medical Care Systems.
- This agreement will mainstream Traditional and Complementary Medicine into India’s National Health System and also serve the global health objectives.
- The main objective is to integrate aspects like standardization, quality, and safety of Traditional and Complementary Medical Systems into the National Health System and to disseminate them at the international level.
- WHO (World Health Organization) and the Ministry of Ayush will jointly complete the work of formulation of the Traditional Medicine Global Strategy 2025-34.
- The Ministry of Ayush and WHO together will shoulder the responsibility of preserving the rich heritage of Traditional and Complementary Medicine as well as making it modern, authentic, and global.
