The UPSC has released the marks of the candidates who have cleared the 2017 civil services exam. Rank 1-holder Durishetty Anudeep scored 55.60% in the exam indicating the tough nature of the UPSC exam.
The final result of the UPSC civil services exam 2017 was declared on 27th April. 990 candidates made it to the final merit list out of almost 5 lakh people who had taken the prelims exam in June last year. The rather low marks of the topper show how tough and multi-dimensional this exam is. Successful candidates would be recruited to the various civil services in the country including the most coveted Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), etc.
Telangana native Anudeep secured 1126 marks out of 2025. Second rank-holder Anu Kumari, an MBA from Haryana scored 1124 marks giving her 55.50% in the IAS exam. The third spot was secured by Sachin Gupta who scored 1122 marks (55.40%). The 990th position went to Himankshi Bharadwaj who scored 830 marks giving her a percentage of 40.98.
4,56,625 people appeared for the UPSC prelims exam 2017. 13,366 candidates cleared the prelims and qualified for the UPSC mains exam which was held in the months of October and November last year. The Personality Test was taken by 2568 candidates out of whom 990 were selected for the services.
