Haryana PCS exams are conducted the same way the centre conducts UPSC exams. They are both conducted once a year in both Hindi and English. The mode of the exam is offline. HPCS is a three-stage exam. Candidates must pass all three stages to clear the exam.

In the first stage, a preliminary examination is conducted. The Prelims consist of only objective questions. This stage is followed by the PCS Mains exam, which contains only descriptive or subjective type questions. Candidates who pass the first stage will give the Mains exam. After the Mains exam, the shortlisted candidates appear for a personal interview round.

In the interview stage, candidates have to clear the personality test. After adding the scores of Mains and Interview, the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) releases a final list of the selected candidates.

Candidates appearing for Haryana PCS exams should sharpen their current affairs knowledge by taking multiple current affairs quizzes.
