ICAR IARI Notification

IARI released the exam notification for technician posts on 18th December 2021. The candidates can apply online from 18th December 2021 to 20th January 2022.

ICAR is short for Indian Council For Agricultural Research. It is an autonomous body that reports to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare. Recently, an ICAR notification was released for technician posts (T-1) in the IARI, or the Indian Agricultural Research Institute. It is an ISO-certified institute, also known as PUSA institute.

Eligibility Criteria

As per the notification, candidates with matriculation degrees/ 10th class can apply for the post. The minimum age limit for this ICAR technician post is 18 years, and the upper limit is 30 years.

Syllabus Overview

The syllabus for the ICAR technician post consists of four main sections, which are-

• General knowledge: The subjects for general knowledge include current affairs, geography, economic science, history, culture, general policy, and scientific research.
• Mathematics: 10th level number system, fundamental arithmetic operations, algebra, trigonometry, mensuration, statistical charts.
• Science: 10th level physical and chemical sciences – nature and behaviour, the world of the living, natural phenomenon, effects of current and natural resources.
• Social science: Contemporary world democratic politics, economic development, and disaster management.

Question Paper and Exam Pattern

Each section will have 25 questions, and the total marks for each section are 25 marks. The question paper will contain 100 MCQ questions, and each question is of 1 mark. The question paper will be set in English and Hindi for all the sections. And 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The exam is for 1.5 hours.

Salary for IARI Technician Post

As per the ICAR notification 2022, the selected candidates for this technician post will receive a basic salary of Rs. 21,700 along with other allowances under the 7th CPC pay matrix. The other allowances include DA, HRA, TA, OTA, and compensation.

Training Period Details

As mentioned above, the selected candidates will undergo a training period of 1 year. After completing the training, the Director of the respective institute will issue a certificate. Post-training, the candidates will be called Technical Trainees. During this period, the trainees cannot take any form of leaves. They may not be able to use other facilities such as transport, canteen, library, dispensary, etc. Based on the candidate’s performance, the duration of the training period may be extended by six months. If the candidate fails to complete the training even after the extension, then they would not receive the appointment.
