About National Water Development Agency 

The National Water Development Agency (NWDA), a Registered Society under the Ministry of Irrigation (now Ministry of Water Resourcess) was set up in the year 1982 to carry out detailed studies, surveys and investigations in respect of Peninsular Component of National Perspective for Water Resources Development.

The Government subsequently modified the functions of NWDA to include the Himalayan Component of National Perspective for Water Resources Development on 11th March, 1994 and composition of Society and Governing Body on 13th Feb. 2003 & 12th March, 2004. In 2006, it was decided that NWDA will explore the feasibility of linking sub-basins of rivers in statesr.

The functions of NWDA were further modified MoWR resolution dated 7th Oct, 2016 to undertake implementation of ILR projects and completion of water resources projects under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) and to act as a repository of borrowed fund or loan from Banks/other institutions for the execution of projects.

Eligibility Criteria for NWDA Exam

The eligibility criteria for NWDA exam is as follows:

NWDA Eligibility
Junior Engineer (Civil) Essential:

Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University or equivalent.

 

Desirable

Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University or equivalent.

Hindi Translator Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination

at the degree level;

OR

Master’s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination

at the degree level;

OR

Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level;

OR

Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level;

OR

Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level;

AND

Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa;

Two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government offices, including Government of India Undertaking.

Junior Accounts Officer Essential:

i) Degree in Commerce from a recognized University/Institute.

ii) Three years experience in Cash and Accounts in a Government

Office/PSU/Autonomous Body/ Statutory Body.

 

Desirable

Candidates having CA/ICWA/Company Secretary will be preferred.

Upper Division Clerk Essential:

Degree of a recognized University.

 

Desirable

Knowledge of Computer operating systems, MS Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint & Internet.

Stenographer Grade-II Essential:

i) 12th Class passed from a recognized Board/University.

ii) Skill (Shorthand) Test (on Computer) at the speed of 80 wpm.

Lower Division Clerk Essential:

i) 12th Class passed from a recognized Board;

AND

ii) A typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on computer.

 

Desirable
