Punjab Police Recruitment

The Punjab Police had issued a detailed notification for the recruitment of Constable and Sub Inspector in Technical and Support Services (TSS) Cadre of Punjab Police on 9th September 2021. A total of 2607 vacancies have been announced- 2340 for Constables and 267 for Sub Inspectors.

The last date to apply for the posts was 10th October 2021. Very soon it’s going to release the 2023 notification for around 8400 posts. The eligible candidates will be selected based on their written and physical screening tests. Read on to find out more about the examination and selection process.

Punjab Police Selection Process

The selection process for Constable and Sub Inspector will be carried out in two stages:

  1. Written Examination (CBT-1 and CBT-2)
  2. Physical Screening Test

Each of the above stages is discussed in detail below.

Phase I (CBT-1 & CBT-2)

As per the notification, the examination will follow the pattern given below.

  • Phase 1 will consist of two computer-based tests, CBT-1 and CBT-2. The test will be available in both English and Punjabi language.
  • The tests shall be objective type with multiple-choice questions totaling 100 marks.
  • The duration of the tests shall be 2 hours.
  • There will be a negative marking of 25% for each wrong answer given.

Punjab Constable and SI Salary

The selected candidate for Punjab Constable (Technical and Support Services (TSS) Cadre) will be paid Rs 19,900 per month as per the pay scale of the 6th pay commission. The Sub Inspector will be paid Rs. 35,400 monthly.

Punjab Police Recruitment 2021 Admit Card

The date of the examination and release of admit card has not yet been announced. However, the admit card is expected to be released 10-15 days before the examination date.
