Every year, Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Services Selection Board (UPSESSB) announces job openings for trained graduate teachers (TGT) and postgraduate teachers (PGT). Through the announcement, UPSESSB also discloses the eligibility and selection procedure for TGT and PGT. To be eligible for the post, one must be at least 21 years of age and have a bachelor’s degree. In this article, we have discussed in detail about the eligibility criteria of the UP TGT and PGT posts.

UP TGT Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, applicants should review the UP TGT Eligibility Criteria to verify that they meet all the prerequisites. If they fail to fulfil any of the conditions, their application will be rejected altogether.

UP TGT Nationality
To apply for the position of TGT, the candidate must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must be Indian nationals.
- Candidates may be Tibetan refugees who fled to India before January 1, 1962, and are now permanently settled in India.
UP TGT Age Limit
The applicant must be at least 21 years old when applying for the UP TGT post. There is no upper age limit requirement in the UP TGT Eligibility Criteria.
UP TGT Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in the associated subject of their choice, as well as a B.Ed/BTC or other similar training certificate. The specifics are as follows:
- Minimum of 50% in the subject under consideration, or candidates must have a graduating degree in the subject in which they are applying with a minimum of 50%.
- Applicants for B.A./B.Com must have completed a minimum of two years of study in History/Political Science/Economics/Geography/Sociology/Psychology/related subjects, or a graduation degree in a combination of the related subjects with a minimum of three years of study and a minimum of fifty percent marks.
- Candidates must have cleared UPTET / CTET / NET in the related subject.
- 4 Years Integrated Course at the NCERT Regional Education College.
- Candidates should be fluent in both English and Hindi.
UP TGT Experience
TGT positions are open to both experienced and inexperienced candidates. To apply for the position, no prior experience is required.
UP TGT Number of Attempts
There is no restriction on the number of attempts specified by the Board. If you fulfil the eligibility conditions, you can apply for the position of TGT as many times as you wish.
UP PGT Eligibility Criteria
The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board determines UP PGT Eligibility. It is critical that applicants seeking to apply for UP PGT understand and meet the qualifying conditions. UP PGT Nationality
To fulfil the UP PGT eligibility requirements, all applicants seeking for the UP PGT position must be Indian nationals. There are no geographical limits for applicants applying from any part of the nation, as long as they meet the UP PGT eligibility criteria.

Only the minimum age limit has been established by the Commission. The PGT eligibility criteria stipulate that the candidate must be at least 21 years old.
