How many non-banking financial companies are there in India?

The number of Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFC’s) registered with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is 9507, as of January 31, 2021. You can read about the Types of Non Banking Financial Institutions – Functions & Objectives in the given link.

Out of these approximately 90 of them are deposit accepting NBFC’s, the rest of the NBFC come under the non-deposit taking category.
