Depending upon the geographical conditions, the demand of produce, labour and level of technology, agriculture can be classified into two main types.
- Subsistence agriculture– shifting cultivation, nomadic herding, intensive subsistence agriculture and primitive subsistence agriculture.
- Commercial agriculture– mixed farming and plantations
