All the exogenic geomorphic processes are covered under the general term, denudation. The word ‘denude’ means to strip off or to uncover. Different types of exogenic processes are weathering, mass wasting/movements, erosion and transportation.
- Weathering:Weathering is the breaking down or dissolving of rocks and minerals on Earths surface
- Mass wasting:Mass wasting is the movement of rock and soil downslope under the influence of gravity.
- Erosion:The geological process in which earthen materials are worn away and transported by natural forces such as wind or water.
- Transportation: Transportation is the movement of material across the Earth’s surface by water, wind, ice or gravity.
