The Pandara Pattam Proclamation is known as the Magna Carta of Kerala. Known commonly as the Temple Entry Proclamation, it was issued by the ruler of the Travancore Kingdom Maharaja Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma on November 12, 1968.
The Proclamation abolished the ban on the so-called ‘low caste people’ or avarnas from entering Hindu temples in the Princely State of Travancore,
