The full name of General Dyer is Reginald Edward Harry Dyer. Born on October 9, 1864 he is well known for his role in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre of 1919. He served as an officer of the British Indian Army, a role he was removed from following the incident.

For his actions he earned condemnation from both India and Britain. Dyer suffered a series of strokes during the last years of his life, finally passing away due to cerebral haemorrhage on 23 July 1927
