Digital India was launched in India on 1st July, 2015. As part of the 2015-16 budget, Rs 2510 crore was allocated to Digital India. Digital India was launched with a vision to transform India into a knowledge economy and digitally empowered society. There are nine pillars of growth areas and Digital India aims to provide thrust to these areas.
