The earliest settlement of the Dutch was at Pulicat. Pulicat, now known as Pazhaverkadu, is a historic seashore town in Thiruvallur District, of Tamil Nadu state, India.
The Dutch would further establish their presence not just in India but also in neighbouring Sri Lanka as well.
