Who is the father of Tipu Sultan?

The father of Tipu Sultan is Hyder Ali. Hyder Ali was a distinguished military commander who served under the Wodeyar rulers of Mysore. He is known as the innovator of military use of the iron-cased Mysorean rockets.

He left his eldest son, Tipu Sultan, an extensive kingdom bordered by the Krishna River in the north, the Eastern Ghats in the east and the Arabian Sea in the west
