Why tilling is bad for soil?

Tillage destroys a soil’s physical properties and therefore the soil’s ability to function properly.  Tillage depletes the soil’s aggregate stability, structure, pore space, water holding capacity, infiltration, permeability, gaseous exchange and nutrient storage ability.
