PSEB Class 9 comprises eight streams, It includes compulsory subjects like

1. Punjabi (Punjabi A and Punjabi B)Or Punjab History and Culture (Part-A and Part-B)
2. English
3. Hindi/ Urdu
4. Mathematics
5. Science
6. Social science
7. Computer science(grading subject)
8. Elective subject: (grading subject)Each candidate shall be offered any one of the following elective subjects or anyone Trade of NSQF.
   1. Sanskrit
   2. Agriculture
   3. Home Science
   4. Cutting and Tailoring
   5. Mech. Drawing & Painting
   6. Music (Vocal)
   7. Music (Tabla)
   8. Music (Instrumental)

Pre Vocational Subjects:

• • 1. Computer Science (Pre Vocational)
    2. Rep & Maint of HHEA
    3. Electronic & Technology
    4. Rep & Maint of Farm Machinery
    5. Knitting (Hand & Machine)

PSEB Class 9 examinations are conducted for 100 marks for all compulsory as well as elective subjects other than Punjabi and Punjab History and Culture. Here, Class 9 PSEB student has to score a minimum of 33/100. Whereas Punjabi and Punjab History and Culture carry 75 marks and a student has to score a minimum of 25/75 to get promoted. Duration of examination will be three hours.
