SSC CPO Eligibility - SSC CPO Age Limit & Qualification

The SSC CPO exam has certain eligibility criteria for candidates aspiring for the exam. This article will provide all the details regarding SSC CPO eligibility conditions that a candidate must satisfy to appear for SSC CPO 2023. 

SSC CPO Tier II Exam will be held on 2nd May 2023. The Commission will soon start the SSC CPO Online application process for 2023 CPO recruitment in July 2023. The SSC CPO 2023 official notification is expected to be released by the Staff Selection Commission on 20th July 2023. Interested and eligible candidates are invited to fill out the SSC CPO application form online before 14th August 2023. Further information can be found on the SSC CPO exam date page.

SSC CPO Eligibility 2023

Aspirants of SSC CPO 2023 must check the SSC CPO eligibility criteria properly before applying for the exam as the Staff Service Commission might cancel the application at the last moment if the SSC CPO eligibility conditions are not met.

Candidates have to fulfil the below mentioned SSC CPO eligibility conditions in order to be eligible for the Central Police Organisation Exam is as follows:

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria
SSC CPO Nationality/Citizenship A candidate must be either:

  • (a) a citizen of India,
  • (b) a subject of Nepal,
  • (c) a subject of Bhutan,
  • (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,
  • (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • A candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
SSC CPO Age Limit
  • Minimum SSC CPO Age Limit 20 years
  • Maximum age limit for SSC CPO is 25 years*
  • Special category candidates are given certain relaxation on the maximum SSC CPO age limit bar* 
SSC CPO Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University
  • Candidates applying for the post of Sub- Inspector in Delhi Police should have a valid driving license whereas driving license is not mandatory for candidates applying for all other posts under CAPFs.

SSC CPO Age Limit Relaxation

Candidates belonging to reserved categories are provided with certain age limit relaxation  The relaxation in the SSC CPO age limit is as follows:

07 Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989 5 years
For ASI in CISF only (Category Codes-10 and 11)
10 For Group B posts: Central Government Civilian Employees who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on the closing date. General/OBC – Up to 40 Years of Age
11 SC/ST – up to 45 Years of Age
For Group ‘C’ Posts only (Category Codes-12 and 13)
12 Widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not re-married General/OBC – Up to 35 years of age
13 SC/ST – Up to 40 years of age
For Departmental candidates of Delhi Police against vacancies in Delhi Police only (Category Codes – 17, 18 and 19)
17 Departmental Candidates who have rendered not less than 3 years of regular and continuous service as on closing date General – Up to 30 Years of Age
18 OBC – Up to 33 Years of Age
19 SC/ST – Up to 35 Years of Age

SSC CPO Eligibility- Physical Endurance Test (PET) (For all posts)

(i) For male candidates only:

  • 100 meters race in 16 seconds
  • 1.6 Kms race in 6.5 minutes
  • Long Jump: 3.65 metres in 3 chances
  • High Jump: 1.2 metres in 3 chances
  • Shot put (16 Lbs.): 4.5 metres in 3 chance

(ii) For female candidates only:

  • 100 metres race in 18 seconds
  • 800 metres race in 4 minutes
  • Long Jump: 2.7 metres in 3 chances.
  • High Jump: 0.9 metres in 3 chances.

SSC CPO Eligibility- Medical Examination

  • Eyesight:

The minimum near vision should be N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye). The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye).

For a right-handed person, the right eye is better and vice versa. The standards should be without visual correction of any kind even by glasses.

  • The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes.

SSC CPO Eligibility- Important Points

  • A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the Examination provisionally but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
  • As per the SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria, candidates applying for the CPO recruitment exam must have valid documents to support the mentioned age in the application form.
  • Candidates must have the necessary Educational documents during further processes.

    So want to know about age relaxation for me. I have compleat 8 year of my service in CISF.
