Agneepath Army Bharti Scheme is a central government scheme for youth to give entry into the Indian Armed Forces. Under the scheme, Indian youth can join the defence services for four years and will be able to serve the country.

Indian Air Force Agnipath Exam Exam Pattern 2022

The phase-I exam pattern for Indian Air Force Agnipath Exam are as follows:

Phase- I Exam Pattern for Indian Air Force Agnipath Exam
Science Subjects. Total duration of the online test shall be 60 minutes and shall comprise of English, Physics and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus
Other Than Science Subjects.  Total duration of the online test shall be 45 minutes and shall comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
Science Subjects & Other Than Science Subjects . Total duration of the online test shall be 85 minutes and shall comprise of English, Physics and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA)

The marking scheme is as follows:

  1. One mark for every correct answer.
  2. Nil (0) marks for unattempted question.
  3. 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer

Phase- II of the examination consists of the following:

1. Physical Fitness Test (PFT): The PFT would consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed within

06 minutes 30 seconds. Candidates shall also have to complete 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups and 20 Squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.

Note: Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts/track pants. Candidates shall sign a consent form prior to appearing in physical fitness test/medical test for selection in IAF.

2. Adaptability Test- I: All candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) shall have to undertake the Adaptability Test-I (objective type written test) which is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.

3. Adaptability Test- II: All candidates who pass Adaptability Test-I shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-II as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test-II is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.

Salient points to be kept in mind during medical examination

  • Candidates are advised to get tartar and stains removed from their teeth before appearing for the Medical
  • Examination. Ears should be free of wax. Candidates should be prepared to stay for the medical test for four to five days under their own arrangement.
  • No TA/DA shall be admissible. Candidates using corrective glasses must be in possession of a prescription from an ophthalmologist bearing stamp and registration number and it should not be more than one month old.
  • Passing in the medical examination is not a guarantee for employment in Indian Air Force

  • Descriptive Test is a test of English Language for 25 marks. Test will be of 30 minutes duration consisting of two parts: Letter Writing and Essay. Candidates will have to answer a Descriptive Test by typing on the computer.
  • The Descriptive Test will commence immediately after completion of the Objective Test.
  • DescriptiveTest is of qualifying nature and candidates have to secure a minimum score in the Descriptive Test.

Indian Air Force Agnipath Exam Eligibility

The eligibility conditions for Indian Air Force Agneepath Exam are as follows:

1. Age Limit: Candidates born between 29 December 1999 and 29 June 2005 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply. The minimum age limit is 17 years in this case.

  • In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the Selection Procedure, then the upper age limit as on date of enrolment is 23 years

2. Educational qualifications: The educational qualification is given as follows:

Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course). Passed two years vocational course from Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in a vocational course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in a Vocational Course.
Passed Two years Vocational Course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Maths from State Education Boards/Councils which are listed in COBSE with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational courses (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

Note – 1: Candidates eligible for Science Subjects examination (on the basis of Intermediate/10+2) are also eligible for Other than Science subjects examination and would be given an option of appearing in both Science and Other than Science subjects examination in one sitting while filling up the online registration form.

Step 1- Agneepath Air Force Registration Process

  1. Click on the link provided below or visit the official website.
  2. A new page will appear. New Users will have to register first.
  3. Click on New User Register
  4. A new page will appear to enter your mobile no. and email to register yourself.
  5. An OTP will be sent on your mobile no. and email, fill and click on “Submit”.
  6. A Login Id and Password will be sent to your registered mobile no. and email id.

Step 2- Login

  1. Login using the Registration Number and Password. Select the post.
  2. Fill up other details such as educational qualifications etc. depending upon the educational qualification of the candidate.
  3. Pay examination fee as applicable, online using Credit/Debit Card or Internet Banking
  4. Candidates are required to upload their scanned colour photograph and Signature (in English or in Hindi) in JPEG format.
  5. Login with Registration Number and Password in the link for “UPLOAD” and thereafter, upload the file/scanned filled
  6. Upload all the required certificates
  7. Submit the application. Print out the acknowledgement for records

Agniveer Vayu Allowances and Benefits

  • The candidates selected for Indian Air Force under Agneepath Scheme are entitled for medical facilities at Service Hospitals as well as CSD provisions.
  • Along with the monthly package, they will also get Risk and Hardship allowances applicable for IAF, along with Dress and Travel allowances.
  • They will be entitled to the awards and honours, as per the guidelines laid down by the Indian Air Force.
  • Agniveer Vayu will get 30 annual leaves apart from the sick leaves based on the medical advice.
  • They will be given a non-contributory insurance cover of INR 48 lakhs for the duration of their engagement period but they will not be eligible for Army Group Insurance Fund (AGIF) schemes/ benefits.
  • They will be exempted from contributing any amount towards Armed Forces Personnel Provident Fund or any other Provident Fund.
  • The candidates will not be eligible for any Dearness Allowance or Military Service Pay.
  • The service duration for Agniveers will only be 4 years and they will not get any pensionary or gratuity benefits.

Agniveer Vayu Benefits of Exiting After 4 Years

  • Seva Nidhi Package: The corpus generated with the combination of the Agniveer’s portion of salary, GoI’s contribution, and the applicable interest will be paid to the existing candidates after 4 years of their service.
  • ‘Agniveer’ Skill Certificate: When the candidates have ended their engagement period, they will receive a detailed skill set certificate highlighting the skills and the level of competency acquired by them.
  • Class 12th Certificate: The Agniveer Vayu enrolled, if enrolled after qualifying Class 10th, will be given a certificate for 12th or equivalent based on their attained skills. The detailed instructions will be issued separately for this.
