Difference between Telolecithal and Centrolecithal Egg

Telolecithal Egg

An egg that has a large quantity of yolk, where the yolk is unevenly distributed all through the cytoplasm is referred to as a telolecithal egg. The yolk in this type of egg is concentrated more towards the vegetal pole. Animals that lay telolecithal eggs are birds, reptiles and fishes.

Centrolecithal Egg

The eggs that have their yolk concentrated in the centre of the shell are referred to as centrolecithal eggs. They have a thin layer of cytoplasm covering the yolk. Arthropoda animals lay centrolecithal eggs.
