Tributes by Dignitaries: Floral tributes were paid by esteemed dignitaries including the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Lok Sabha Speaker, Ministers, Parliamentarians, and other officials at the statue of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the Parliament House Lawn.
Public Participation:
- The event opened to the public, allowing them to pay homage at the feet of the life-size statue of Dr. Ambedkar.
- Thousands of individuals attended, demonstrating their reverence by offering floral tributes.
Activities and Performances:
- A stall was set up by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation to facilitate the storage of belongings of attendees during their tribute-paying.
- Buddhist chants were performed by 25 monks, adding a spiritual aspect to the celebration.
- Artists from the Song & Drama Division entertained the audience with songs dedicated to Dr. Ambedkar, highlighting his contributions and ideals.
About Dr. Ambedkar Foundation:
- Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) was established in 1992 under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment to promote the ideologies of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on a national scale.
- The Foundation aims to preserve and disseminate the life, work, and contributions of Dr. Ambedkar through various programs and activities.
- The Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial (DANM) museum showcases personal belongings, photographs, letters, and documents related to Dr. Ambedkar’s life and contributions, along with audio-visual exhibits of his speeches and interviews.
