1. NADA Bill, 2022 (National Anti Doping Bill)

Context – NADA Bill to strengthen India’s commitment to clean sports.
Details –Â
- The Rajya Sabha passed the National Anti Doping Bill 2022. The Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha in July.
- The bill provides for the constitution of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) as a statutory body for regulating anti-doping activities in sports and also marks the historic occasion when India joins the league of select groups of 30 countries which have their own National anti-doping law.
- Eminent sports personalities of the country have lauded the Bill saying that this will help to strengthen India’s commitment towards Clean Sport while ensuring the highest level of integrity among sportspersons competing in national and international competitions.
2. Anti- Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs)

Content – DRDO successfully test fires indigenously developed laser guided ATGMs.
Details –
- Indigenously developed Laser-Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM) were successfully test-fired from Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Army at KK Ranges with support of Armoured Corps Centre & School (ACC&S) Ahmednagar in Maharashtra.
- The all-indigenous Laser Guided ATGM employs a tandem High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) warhead to defeat Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA) protected armoured vehicles. The ATGM has been developed with multi-platform launch capability and is currently undergoing technical evaluation trials from the 120 mm rifled gun of MBT Arjun.

3. India- Mauritius Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement(CECPA)

Context -First session of India-Mauritius High Powered Joint Trade Committee successfully held.
Details –
- India and Mauritius held the 1st session of India-Mauritius High-Powered Joint Trade Committee in New Delhi.
- The High-Powered Joint Trade Committee had been constituted as per the mandate of the India-Mauritius Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership agreement (CECPA), to review the general functioning and implementation of the India-Mauritius CECPA which entered into force on 1st April, 2021. CECPA is the first trade Agreement signed by India with a country in Africa.
- Appreciating the growth of the bilateral merchandise trade between India and Mauritius, both sides agreed to enhance bilateral collaboration to further increase bilateral trade and realise the true potential of the bilateral relationship especially under the CECPA.
- Both sides agreed to the inclusion of the General Economic Cooperation (GEC) Chapter and Automatic Trigger Safeguard Mechanism (ATSM) in CECPA. The GEC chapter will enable enhancement of export competitiveness and enlarging the existing scope for collaboration, inter-alia, in the fields of Investments, Financial Services, Textile, Small and Medium Enterprises, Handicrafts, Gems and Jewellery, Information and Communication Technology, Film Production, Space Technology, Blue Economy, Port Infrastructure, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals & Bio-technology, Competition Policy, Renewable Energy etc.
- Extensive interactions were held between both sides in the Services sector with regard to establishing equivalence in certification, skills and licensing requirements of various professional bodies and exploring collaboration/ cooperation arrangement between the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and its counterpart in Mauritius on developing skill-sets.
- The next session of India- Mauritius High Powers JTC meeting will be held in 2023.

4. North Eastern Space Application Centre (NESAC), Shillong
Syllabus – GS3; Science and Technology; Achievements of Indians in science & technology
Prelims – NESAC, Shillong.
Context – NESAC will execute 110 Projects in eight North Eastern States by 2024.
Details –Â
- NESAC has coordinated the preparation of Plan of Actions (PoA) by the Nodal Department of eight states to execute 110 Projects by 2024.
- These projects are in the domains of Agriculture, Water Resources, Forestry & Ecology, Planning & Development, UAV Remote Sensing and Disaster Management Support, with joint funding from MoDONER, DoS and State Governments.
- NESAC has developed and achieved following major milestones for the North Eastern Region including:
- Implementation of North Eastern Spatial Data Repository (NeSDR)
- Identification of potential areas for development of sericulture & horticulture,
- Remote Sensing based forest working plans & river atlas,
- Geospatial system for monitoring MoDONER sponsored projects & survey of Record of Forest Rights (RoFR),
- Flood Early Warning System (FLEWS) for Assam, and
- Training & capacity building, including for professionals from BIMSTEC region
- Satellite imaging-based inputs to support settling of border disputes between North Eastern States undertaken as per suggestion of MHA.

- NESAC is an autonomous institution under Dept. of Space (DOS) to provide space technology inputs and services for the development of the North Eastern Region.
