1. Mangarh Dham Ki Gaurav Gatha

Context – The Prime Minister attended a public programme Mangarh Dham ki Gaurav Gatha at Margarh Hill, Banswara, Rajasthan.
Details –
- Shri Narendra Modi paid homage to the sacrifices of unsung tribal heroes and martyrs of the freedom struggle at a public programme – Mangarh Dham Ki Gaurav Gatha.
- The Prime Minister said that Mangarh is a shared heritage of the people of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. The holy land of Mangarh symbolises sacrifice, tapasya, bravery and sacrifice of tribal brave hearts.
- Social reformer and great freedom fighter Govind Guru led the gathering of tribals and forest dwellers in 1913 in Mangarh against the British regime. On 17th November 1913, British colonial rulers surrounded the hills of Mangarh and massacred approximately 1500 tribals in broad daylight. This is one of the significant and impactful events of the freedom struggle.
- As a part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahatsov, the GoI has taken a number of steps to celebrate the unsung tribal heroes of the freedom struggle. It includes declaring 15th November (Tribal Freedom Fighter Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary) as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, establishing tribal museums across the nation, etc. to recognise the contributions of tribal communities to society and increase awareness about their sacrifices in the freedom struggle.
2. CANSO Asia Pacific Conference, 2022
Syllabus – GS 2, Growth and Development in Aviation Sector.
Prelims – CANSO, AAI.
Context– A three-day Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) Conference under the theme “Think Global, Collaborate Regional, Accomplish Local”.
Details –
- The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is hosting this event in Goa which will benefit the entire region’s aviation sector and will also enhance the civil aviation of India through the exchange of knowledge.
- Delegates and exhibitors from the Asia Pacific region and beyond will discuss and collaborate on important issues that will shape the future of Asia’s aviation industry and turn the Complete Air Traffic System (CATS) Global Council’s vision for the skies of 2045 into reality.
- In a unique collaboration, global leaders from more than 25 aviation and aerospace organisations have come together to create a vision for the skies of 2045 and beyond. The Complete Air Traffic System (CATS) Global Council, a forum of industry bodies, believes that a shared blueprint and joint action are vital to make sure that future skies are efficient, clean and safe and that they work for travellers, operators, nations and the environment.
- The conference also covers digitalisation and automation as key enablers in CANSO’s vision for future skies. Cutting-edge technology will be discussed to help modernise Air Traffic Management in the region.

Prelims – 7th India Water Week. Theme: Water Security for Sustainable Development & Equity.
Context – The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the 7th India Water Week at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
About India Water Week –
- Conceptualised and organised for the first time in 2012, India Water Week is a regular forum where the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of lndia discusses, talks, strategizes with eminent stakeholders through seminars, exhibitions and sessions to build public awareness, to get support to implement key strategies for conservation, preservation and optimum use of available water.
7th India Water Week –
- The event started with the ceremony of “Jal Bharo” by the President of India and other dignitaries pouring water into the vessel. This ceremony symbolised the immense importance of water conservation.
- Highlights of the event –
- The President expressed confidence that all will benefit from the exchange of ideas and technologies during India Water Week 2022
- 5-day-long event to address issues of sustainable development of water resources
- Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel & European Union are participating in the 7th IWW
- Plenary session held under the chairmanship of Union Jal Shakti Minister
- Deliberations were held on water security, conservation & challenges due to climate change
- Exhibition on state-of-the-art water technologies and solutions also inaugurated
