1. YANTRA platform

Prelims: YANTRA platform

Context: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, attended the Yoga and Ayurveda in Neurosciences, Therapeutics and Research Approaches (YANTRA), 2023 held at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS).

Details:

• ANTRA, 2023 is an international conference on Integrative Medicine with a theme on models of integration in healthcare. 
• YANTRA is a platform, championed by NIMHANS along with Jignasa, to reinforce and rekindle the effectiveness of Ayush system of medicine in curing as well as enriching the quality of lives of the people. 
• With an objective to revitalise the Ayush system of medicine, be it Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Sowa Rigpa or Homoeopathy, this platform has a focus approach to make Ayush systems as mainstream in Public Health and Primary Healthcare to fulfil the Universal Health Coverage goal set by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

2. National Milk Day 2023

Prelims: National Milk Day 2023

Context: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying is celebrating “National Milk Day 2023” in Guwahati. This special day honours the 102nd birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese, the “Father of the White Revolution in India,” highlighting the achievement and importance of the dairy sector in our country.

Details:

• During the event, an exhibition showcasing innovative technologies, livestock products and services and a technical session focusing on feed and fodder with a special emphasis on formulating a fodder strategy for NER states. 
• The state level launch of A-HELP (Accredited Agent for Health and Extension of Livestock Production) programme is also scheduled in the event.
• The event will be organized in collaboration with the State Animal Husbandry Department, Assam Livestock Development Board, and NDDB and the prestigious National Gopal Ratna Awards 2023 will also be conferred in this event.

3. Samajik Adhikarita Shivir

Prelims: Samajik Adhikarita Shivir

Context: Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment inaugurated ‘Samajik Adhikarita Shivir’ for distribution aids and assistive devices to person with disabilities (Divyangjan) at Gujarat.

Details:

• The distribution camp was interconnected online with the other camps conducted simultaneously at other 19 locations covering 9 states across the country for distribution aids and assistive devices to more than 50 thousand pre-identified Divyang beneficiaries under the ADIP scheme of Government of India.
• The distribution camps were organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India through the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) a PSU under administrative control of DEPwD in association respective districts administration.
