Context: Indian para-athletes create history with India’s highest-ever Medal Tally in the Para Asian Games.Â
Details:Â
- Indian para-athletes have created history with India’s highest-ever Medal Tally in the Para Asian Games with 111 medals, including 29 Gold medals.Â
- Previously India had won 14 medals in the 2010 edition, 33 in 2014 and 72 in 2018.Â
- This is India’s best-ever performance since the inception of the Games where India was ranked 5th in the overall medal tally.Â
- India sent its largest contingent this year, consisting of 303 athletes (191 male & 112 female).Â
- Out of the 111 medals, female athletes have contributed 40 medals, i.e. 36% of the medal tally.

Context: The Prime Minister has paid rich tributes to Sant Meerabai on her Jayanti.
About Sant Meerabai:
- She was a peerless devotee of Lord Krishna and her verses adorn every household and her life is an inspiration for the society.Â
- Meera, also known as Mirabai and referred to as Saint Meerabai, was a Hindu mystic poet and Krishna devotee who lived in the 16th century. She is a well-known Bhakti saint, especially in the Hindu tradition of North India.Â
- Raag Govind, Govind Tika, Raag Soratha, Meera Ki Malhar, Mira Padavali, and Narsi Ji Ka Mayara are some of Mirabai’s compositions.
- Mira Bai’s poetry appears in Prem Ambodh Pothi, a work credited to Guru Gobind Singh and completed in 1693 CE, as one of sixteen ancient bhakti saints essential to Sikhism.
- Meerabai was written in Braj bhasa and Rajasthani.
