For Prelims, candidates have to prepare only for two papers – General Studies (GS) and Aptitude Test. For Mains, candidates have to prepare for eight papers, out of which 6 are compulsory papers, and two are optional papers. Compulsory papers are English, Hindi, GS1, GS2, GS3, and Essay.

What is the procedure for completing the HPPSC exam form?
Candidates must go to the official website http://www.hppsc.hp.gov.in/hppsc/ to fill out the HPPSC test application. They must then select “Apply Online” from the drop-down menu. Select “Online Application Registration” from the drop-down menu. You must choose the position for which the application is being submitted. Now correctly enter all of the information and submit your completed form along with any required papers. Only online applications are accepted. Offline and direct application modes are not available.

You will be given four options for objective-type questions, and you must select one of them. Negative marking will be applied to incorrect answers, and it will vary according to the position applied for. For some, a total of 1/4 marks is deducted, and for others, a total of 1/3 marks is removed. Blank responses will not be considered incorrect. However, selecting multiple options at once will be regarded as incorrect.

The application cost for candidates in the General category is Rs. 400. Only INR 100 is required for candidates from the reserved categories of SC, ST, OBC, and those living under the poverty line.
