RRB JE Selection Process 2022

The board holds this exam for Junior Engineer recruitment in Railways through 2 stages, CBT 1 and CBT 2. Although it has not yet released any notification for this examination in 2022, it remains the same every year.

In this article, discussed is the scheme of selection for Railways Junior Engineer. Candidates must review the exam pattern and syllabus for the different stages of the examination to familiarize with the selection process.

CBT 1 – Phase 1 Exam Pattern & Shortlisting

• CBT 1 has an objective type with multiple-choice questions.
• This paper consists of 100 questions carrying 1 mark for each. Thus, the total marks for this examination are 100.
• Candidates will get 90 minutes to complete their answers.
• These questions will cover various topics from 4 subjects, comprising-

1. Mathematics
2. General Science
3. Logical Reasoning and General Intelligence
4. General Awareness

• Questions from Maths and Science will hold maximum weightage in this exam.
• In contrast, the General Awareness section will have the least number of questions.

CBT 2 – Phase II Exam Pattern & Shortlisting

• The exam pattern for RRB JE CBT 2 is objective type with multiple-choice questions.
• There will be 150 questions, each of 1 mark. Thus the total marks of this exam will be 150.
• The total duration of this exam will be 120 minutes.
• The questions will come from 4 topics, which are as follows-

1. Technical Ability
2. General Awareness
3. Physics and Chemistry
4. Basics of Environment and Pollution
5. Basic Computer Application

• This question paper will be focused on candidates’ technical ability by having maximum questions from that area.

Final Shortlisting of Candidates for RRB JE

After the twoo written examinations, i.e., CBT 1 and CBT 2, the next stage is document verification and the medical test. After the first two levels, the majority of candidates are filtered based on their performance in the written test.

Then they are called in for document verification, wherein, all the academic qualifications and category reservations mentioned in the application form are cross checked. In case any malpractice that was followed while filling in the registration form is discovered, the candidate’s candidature is canceled.

Finally, the Medical Test takes place for the final round of selection, and the candidates who qualify this stage are provisionally appointed as Junior Engineers by the Railway Recruitment Board.
