How did the Russian Revolution of 1905 end?

After the outbreak of the Russian Revolution of 1905, Lenin returned to Russia.  

The revolution consisted of strikes breaking out throughout the Russian Empire. It came to an end when the Tsar Nicholas II promised reforms, one of which included the adoption of a Russian constitution and the formation of an elected legislature.
