The Ninety-Second Amendment Act of 2003 included four more languages in the Eighth Schedule. They are:
- Bodo
- Dogri (Dongri)
- Mathilli (Maithili) and
- Santhali.
With this, the total number of constitutionally recognised languages increased to 22.
