Sushma Swaraj became the first woman Chief Minister of Delhi. She served in the office for 52 days in 1998 till she resigned. She was also the first woman chief minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
She was succeeded by Sheila Dikshit, a congress party person.
