Human External Reproductive Organs

Male and female external reproductive organs share a common evolutionary history. The male urethra, the penis, and the scrotum are all parts of the male external genitalia. The clitoris, labia majora, and labia minora, collectively known as the vulva, are the female external genitalia. Individuals have significantly diverse external genitalia.

The penis, testes, and scrotum are among the external reproductive organs found in the male reproductive system. The health of the male reproductive system and the hormones secreted by the brain determine a man’s fertility and sexual characteristics.

The urethra, through which sperm and urine flow, and two tubes on either side are located in the penis. The testes are where sperm is produced. The vas deferens vessel carries it up to the urethra, which combines with prostate fluid to yield semen.

The labia majora, mons pubis, labia minora, vestibule, vestibular bulb, clitoris, hymen, and vestibular glands are the female external reproductive organs. The vulva is the collective name for the parts of the external female genitalia, which include a significant portion of the female perineum.
