Eligibility Criteria for the South Indian Bank Legal Officer Exam

It is important for candidates to go through the eligibility criteria like age, work experience, citizenship, educational qualification, etc., before applying for the Legal officer exam.       Points to Remember

  • Candidates who score less than 60% marks will not be eligible to apply for the position of Legal officer. Rounding off the percentage marks to the nearest integer is not permitted (for e.g. 59.99% cannot be rounded off to 60%).
  • The percentage of marks will be calculated by dividing the total marks obtained in all the subjects in all the semesters or years by the total maximum marks in all subjects.

South Indian Bank Legal Officer Exam Pattern

There is no online or written exam for the South Indian Bank legal officer post. After the completion of the application process, candidates are shortlisted for the interview on the basis of their educational qualification, age and other eligibility requirements mentioned in the official notification. 

It is important for candidates to provide all the necessary information in their online application form. They should ensure that they provide true and correct information in the application form. If any of the information furnished in the form is found to be false, the selection or appointment of the candidate is liable for termination. 

Applicants who do not meet the eligibility requirements notified by the bank will not be considered for the position.

Applicants who wish to apply for the legal officer post should visit the official website of the South Indian bank (www.southindianbank.com). Candidates should keep the following points in  mind while applying for the legal officer position.

  • Candidates should apply for the exam before the last date. 
  • Applicants have to apply online and no other mode of application will be accepted.
  • Candidates should ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria before applying for the examination.
  • Applicants should not submit any false or misleading information in the online application form. They should verify the information before submitting the form as there is no provision to modify the online application.
  • Candidates should not make multiple registrations as it will lead to disqualification.
  • Along with the application form, candidates should upload their photograph, signature and  Curriculum Vitae (CV) as per the guidelines mentioned in the official notification. 
  • Candidates should note down the User ID (Application Ref. ID) generated by the system, while applying for the exam. They have to create their own password. The bank will send an email and SMS comprising the User ID after completion of the online registration process. 
  • Applicants should save and take a printout of the online application form for future reference. 
  • To get updates related to the Legal officer exam, aspirants should regularly check the “careers” page on the bank’s official website.
  • It is recommended that applicants keep two copies of the exact photo they used for their online application so they can present them at the interview.
  • Applicants should apply for the Legal officer post only if they are prepared to serve at any place in India. 
  • The fulfilment of further procedures in accordance with the Bank’s current rules and regulations, as well as proof of medical fitness and a satisfactory background check, will also be requirements for appointment.
  • Based on the data candidates provide in the online application form, they will be shortlisted for the interview. They should take great care while filling out the online application form. The applicant’s candidacy will be revoked or the appointment may be terminated if the bank later learns that the candidate provided false information in the application form.
  • Only those candidates who receive a CGPA/Grade equivalent to 60 percent or higher should apply for the position of legal officer. Applicants whose universities or colleges issue grades or CGPA instead of marks should present a certificate from their university confirming the percentage conversion.
  • Candidates from SC and ST are eligible for a five-year age relaxation. Therefore, wherever necessary, they must provide attested copies of certificates from a competent body proving their status in this regard.
  • In order to avoid last-minute problems brought on by significant traffic on the official website, applicants should submit their applications for the Legal officer position before the deadline.

South Indian Bank Legal Officer Appointment and Bond

  • Candidates who are chosen must sign a contract stating that they will work for the bank for a minimum of three (3) years (active service) after joining the organisation. 
  • If the employee leaves the Bank’s service before the end of the specified time period, the employee will be responsible for paying a fee of Rs. 1,50,000 (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand only) toward expenses incurred by the Bank for recruitment, training (both internal and external training including on the job training), compensation/liquidated damages for the loss of the Bank’s opportunity to derive anticipated benefits from the recruitment process, etc.
