The APPSC Group 1 Eligibility Criteria are set by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC). Eligibility criteria for the year 2023 will be updated once the APPSC Group 1 official notification is out. Candidates can get the eligibility reference from official notification.
The Group 1 Exam is conducted to recruit civil servants for prestigious posts in the Andhra Pradesh state administration.

As per the APPSC eligibility rules, there is the provision of reservation for Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Women, Persons with Disability and Meritorious Sports Persons.
For claiming reservation benefits under SC/ST/BC, candidates must have a domicile of Andhra Pradesh.

APPSC Group 1 Eligibility
On the date of notification, APPSC Group 1 candidates must fulfil these eligibility conditions:
- Indian Citizen
- Degree from a recognised Central/State university or an equivalent qualification
- APPSC Group 1 Age Limit:
- Minimum Age – 18 years
- Maximum Age – 42 years

To sit for the APPSC Group 1 exam, you need to have a graduation degree from a govt-recognized college/university. If the open university from where you are currently pursuing a degree is recognized by the Andhra Pradesh’s govt, then after the completion of the said course, you can sit for the exam.

The maximum age limit for OBC for UPSC Exam is 35. While for APPSC Group 1 (Post – Deputy Collector), the maximum age limit is 42 + 5 years for OBC.

The age limit for OC is similar to General Category, in UPSC which is 32 (Max. Age Limit). APPSC – 42.
