1. 125th Anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna Math

Context: Prime Minister participates in the 125th Anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna Math.

Details:

• The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi participated in the 125th Anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna Math in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
• A book on the holy trio was also released by the Prime Minister.
• The Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission were started in Chennai in 1897 by Swami Ramakrishnanand. These organizations are engaged in various humanitarian and social service activities.
• The Prime Minister talked about Swami Vivekananda, his teachings and philosophies, and his contribution to India’s culture and tradition.

2. Exercise KAVACH

Syllabus: GS 3, Security.

Mains: Various security forces, agencies, and their mandate.

Prelims: Exercise KAVACH.

Details:

• A large-scale Joint Military Exercise KAVACH concluded by Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC). The exercise began on 23 February 2023.
• The exercise involved the assets of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
• The aim of the exercise is to fine-tune the joint warfare capabilities and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and enhance the interoperability and operational synergy between the forces.
• Exercise KAVACH displayed professionalism and synergy amongst the different components of ANC while conducting successful joint operations in a complex and dynamic environment.
